Hayao Miyazaki’s Nittele Nippon Terebi Clock

View of Hayao Miyazaki’s Nittele clock at the Nihon Terebi Headquarters in Shimbashi Itchome. This clock is the largest animated clock in the world.
Shiodome City Center Exterior (Tokyo, Japan)

View of Shiodome City Center from the Yurikamome Shinbashi Station. The Caretta Shiodome Building containing the Wicked Gekidanshiki Theatre is also visible in the distance. Shiodome City Center is a modern building which houses many corporate offices and restaurants. The view from the top-floor “sky” restaurants is exceptional.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku functions as Tokyo City Hall and also houses two free observatories for tourists. North and South observation decks are located on top two floors and provide a good free way to see much of the city while shopping for souvenirs at the observatories’ gift shops.
April Fool’s Day
Today is April Fools’ Day, and though I haven’t witnessed anything funny, I do feel as though the entire country is playing a joke on themselves.

Anyway, I made some calls this morning to my parents and friends to wish them a Merry Christmas, but I almost said Happy Christmas a few times. I’ve been in this melting pot [...]
Christmas Tree
I went to Ikea today and got my very first real Christmas tree. It was only 1,990yen, and the best part is that if I bring the tree back to the store after the holidays, I get an Ikea gift certificate for the same amount. Free real Christmas trees are really nice.
Tokyo Adventures
Such a grand title deserves a grand entry, and I only have a few moments to type out my thoughts. I’ve been taking myself on mini-dates lately when I leave the embassy or when I go somewhere to meet Tatsuya in Tokyo. I’ve been going into the city several times a week and [...]
Shibuya, macaroons, etc.
I always want to write something truly grand when I’m planning my next blog update in my head, but by the time I make it to the computer all my passion has left me. I feel like I just want to say what happened as quickly as possible, and I my entry turns into [...]
